New Year sale in Tokyo

I am living with my husband in Tokyo since last two years. I have heard lot about the New Year’s Day sale in Tokyo. The habitants of Japan call this sale as lucky bags sale. It normally starts on 1st January and last for one or two days. Some brand / store offer this sale for one day i.e 1st day of New Year and some continues it for next day.

I was very excited to buy lucky bags and enjoy the excitement people talk about. I have save some money for this in last two months and now it is the day of sale i.e 1st day of January 2012. I grabbed my husband to the market and visit the following stores to buy my lucky bags:

LeSport Sac

First of all we went to the LeSport Sac and buy a lucky bag which cost us in $150. This bag contains further more 4 bags in it which are following:

  • A messenger cum laptop bag
  • A tote bag
  • A makeup bag
  • A mini-backpack

Bath and Body

Then we went to the Bath and body bought two bags of $8 and $15 respectively. In these bags gift sets were there which I like the most.

Vera Bradley

Here we buy a bag with the price of $100. This bag contains four items in it.

  • A hipster Bag
  • A tote
  • A wallet (The wallet was very beautiful and best quality)
  • A playing card holder

Swatch

From Swatch we purchase a bag with price $92. It contains the thing I love those. The items are following:

  • A hat
  • A pin
  • 2 watches (These watches are for couple one for me and one for my husband. I like the watch most because it style was very beautiful and sophisticated.)

I and my husband are fully contended with out lucky bags and the items these bags contain. That is why we do not need to trade these items with other because all the items are good and we like and need them in our daily life. We enjoy the sale very much and we decide to go on next year sale and buy more bags than this year.

You can see that in Tokyo the celebrations for the New Year begin on 29th December and will continue till the 4th of January. This provides you an excellent opportunity to enjoy the full week with your friends and family members in a festival mood. One thing that you can miss on because of these celebrations is that you cannot visit the tourist’s spots that are closed due to the New Year festivities and celebrations. People of Tokyo are also very religious so if you see them going to temples and praying for the coming year and the future then you must not be amused.
